Extasia

Stefanie Freydont, Designer

When we discover and embrace our destiny, it is like a gift from the gods. Stefanie Freydont found hers when she took her first metal smith class in 10th grade and "never looked back." An "academic failure" in all other subjects, she went on to win first place in the Junior Art division at the California State Fair, which earned her a feature in an L.A. times article beside other young artists and the gift of being allowed to actually graduate with her class. "The principal could not see his way to flunking me out of all that notoriety. Whew!" This free spirit listened to her muse, packing up her diploma and metal tools, and began handcrafting jewelry. By 1991, Extasia was born, offering exquisite Greco-Roman inspired necklaces, bracelets, and more to we mere mortals to lavish upon ourselves and others. Stefanie's majestic collections embody her love of the great German craftsmen of the 15th century whose engraving techniques are legendary and evince a time when Roman emperors were felled by gloriously passionate queens of the Nile. Whether draped upon your neck in toga worthy strands or dangling from your wrists like ancient coins, Extasia's pieces are the pure vision of a woman whose time here on "Ma Earth" is all about keeping "in tune always with the ever changing sensuality of the Universe." Athena would be proud.
