New Arcadia

Sander Witlin, Designer and Owner

"Everything, all sources, smell, taste, memory, even touch...all inspire," so says artist Sander Witlin, owner of New Arcadia, whose intriguing plates and unique glassware are proof of the inspiring force of the world around us. The New York City native has taken his love of the exotic extravagance of 1950s MGM swashbuckling films and created beautiful pieces that convey that sense of adventure and wondrous escape. The horizon, the unknown, figures strongly in Sander's work as he always looks forward, never satisfied with settling, as his designs show. His style is "my own," one that will transport you to the world in which his art lives, whether it's a lithesome peacock strolling, plumage dragging lazily behind it or a tree-lounging leopard, tail curled and easy. It is the essence of the possible, the beauty of what could be that gives Sander's art vivacity and life. As he says, "Tomorrow will be the most interesting day."
